We have one more month of school. Five weeks to be exact. You can tell that the time is coming closer to close our doors forever. Tensions and emotions are running high. We are going over things that we have to do for the end of the year. Books have to be inventoried and boxed... in the boxes we do not have and do not know where we are getting them from. We are also planning a the last two weeks of school for the kids. Teachers are going to be performing a song and then we are going on a pilgrimage around the school with the children. We will lock the doors and then it will be it, for the kids at least. They will go home and never be back in for school. All the kids have a place to go, it is now getting all the teachers a job. One thing I find amazing is that soem teachers have jobs at Castholic schools and there are no jobs posted on the website we go to. I wonder how they are finsign these positions and getting the interviews. I have had an interview at another Catholic school in Cationsville. I think that I am taking it as long as the other person she interviews is more appealing. The principal was really impressed by me and told me before I left that she wants me. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I would still like to hear back from the other school I interviewed at one way or another.
The kids are school are showing signs that it is not only the end of the year, but that they know the school is closing so they just do not care. Some think that because we are closing, their files do not tranfer to their new school. How little do they know, that their report cards for third trimester go in their files.
It is a rough few weeks ahead. Everyone keeps telling me that things have a way of working out, but that is not what you want to hear now. I want to hear... you have a job!! Not to mention we cannot prepare ourselves for the last day of school. It wil be so emotional. I hope the parents are cooperative because I know the teachers including me are going to be a wreck.
