Winter Break

It is a scheduled day off from school and man am I ready to go back. I am so ready that I am actually doing school work. I have graded all the papers, did lesson plans, and now I am typing up activities for the kids to do. They will love all the tests and quizzes I ahve come up with. The kids are at Grandmom Dorothy's house so that I am able to accomplish all of this. It is definitely something that needs to be done.

For the past week though, I have found a new appreciation for the sun and the warm weather it brings. So okay I have to wear sunglasses all the time to avoid getting a migraine, but it is so worth it. SNOW SUCKS!

I was able to spend a few extra days with Scott and the boys. It was like being on maternity leave all over again. Kinda refreshing, except for the fact we could not go anywhere or do anything until we dug ourselves out. Plus side--Great workout when you cannot get to a gym or go for a walk.

Grocery shopping proved to be very difficult. First mistake- shopping in Pikesville at their Giant. I had one woman cut in front of me in line then say, "OH, I am sorry, I did not mean to cut in front of you."... so then why did you? Another man in back of me in line asks me to move up so he can put two cans of green beans down. I guess they were too heavy for him. The only problem with this request was the fact that there was no place for me to go. Sorry mister- there was another shopper in front of me and nowhere for me to go. But on the way out I did say to the very "polite and courteous man behind me"- "Sir, I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!!" The cahier just laughed and said she agreed with me.

Driving also proved very diffucult in some areas I will not name. But if you knwo where my parents live and where I grew up you know where I am talking about. People are just so polite and nice there... NOT!!! The county did a horrible job cleaning off the roads there- even the main ones.

Other than that... I am ready to go back to work and enjoy a change in scenery. I think I even miss my kids!!! (the students that is)
