I know that it has been a long time since I have posted, but I do not know if I am coming or going here lately. School is busy with BizTown coming up, the Auction is Saturday, and testing begins next week. I like testing, but then again I hate it. I like it because I can get some paper work done while testing is going on, but I hate it because it takes away so much teaching time. I plan on tesing in the morning with everyone else, then doing BizTown lessons in the rest of the day. I have to make sure my kids are ready for the trip. I hope that they will be.
Our annual auction is Saturday. It should be good. There was a person planning on coming which meant that some others were not going to come, but the person is not coming so everyone else will come and enjoy themselves. It will be a great relaxing time before our spiral downward for the school year.
I had my formal observation this year. Can I remind everyone that I hate being observed. I hate the principal come in during a science lesson. We have been working with the Periodic Table and the element's models. I had the students fill in cards with specific information like Atomic Number, Atomic Weight, and chemical name. Then we began to find how many protons, electrons, and neutrons were in each element. The kids after doing two or three together really got into the grove and figured out the rest for themselves. I was really impressed. Some classes I do not worry over with challenging work, this class I do. All but two really took hold of the concept and were able to really make nice models with the energy levels and nucleus. I was glad they all behaved as well. The principal was impressed with all that the clas knew- she wrote that in a note before she left. Speaking of leaving... I NEVER thought she was going to leave. I had to pee so bad. She was there for more than an hour. I wonder how long she was there for all the other teacher's she has observed thus far.
I am glad that that is over!!! Till next year- then we will have two.
On to Lex... he is doing so well. He is growing like a weed-- three feet tall and still 28 pounds. Here are some of his favorite things:
Food: Mac and Cheese, eggs, M and Ms, Lettuce, and yogurt
Animals: Cats-- Midnight and Cloe, cows, ducks, and dinosaurs
Activities: Coloring, kicking a ball, throwing a ball, and pushing daddy over-- HE IS ALL BOY!!
Words: NO!, nana, nini, momma, dada, pop pop, pop pop pop, mom mom, Cloe, Midnight, tanks (thanks), shoe, sock, snow, tv, tt for teeth, and tanks mom. Yes, he says Tanks mom~!!!!
In other news.... Lex is going to have a little brother or sister in November. Yes, I am pregnant. I found out a couple weeks ago, but the blood work this week confirmed that my levels are going up the way they are supposed to. We are thrilled. Scott is probably going to kill me because I am posting it on my blog, but oh well. I know that he has told his friends, and most people at school know. It is a happy time. Who knew it would happen the first time trying. That is definitly different from our experience trying to conceive Lex.
